Sean Gray

Sean Gray (born June 15, 1983) is an English comedy writer, producer and director.[1] He is a member of the writing team of the HBO series Veep and the BAFTA-winning BBC series The Thick Of It.

Other credits include writing Additional Interview Questions for Stewart Lee's Comedy Vehicle (Series 2) as well as the Armando Iannucci-created series Time Trumpet and Armando Iannucci's Charm Offensive. He is also creator of 'iGod'[2] - an apocalyptic Radio 4 comedy series starring David Soul and Simon Day.[3]

In 2010, he wrote and directed the short film, 'Bistro'.[4] The film stars Peter Capaldi and Alex Macqueen.[5] He won Soho House's international 'Electric Shorts' competition and was selected as a judge for the 2012 prize.[6]

He was researcher on Iannucci's Oscar-nominated film In The Loop. During a trip to Washington, he and Iannucci reportedly managed to get into the US State Department using their BBC passes,[7] prompting acting spokesman Robert Wood to later issue a statement [8] and the State Department to conduct "a complete review of their security procedures".[9]

Gray previously worked as Assistant Producer on Series 1 of BBC2's Stewart Lee's Comedy Vehicle, as well as writing for the red button 'Stewart V Armando' segments with Iannucci.[10]
