Sebastian Theodore Kemble Croft (born 16 December 2001) is an English actor prominent for TV roles in Game of Thrones and Penny Dreadful and the feature film, Music, War and Love.[1]

Early life and Family Legacy

Croft was born in Oxford, England. His parents are businessman John Croft and Facebook Executive Doulla Croft. Croft is the youngest of three children and attended the Dragon School in Oxford. His first foray into a professional stage production was at age seven in the UK tour of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Croft is related to the legendary 18th and 19th Century British actor John Philip Kemble, who managed the Theatre Royal Drury Lane alongside his sister Sarah Siddons from 1788 to 1817.[2]

Career

Musical Theatre

Croft made his first West End stage appearance in 2010 in Sam Mendes' production of Oliver! (Theatre Royal Drury Lane).[3] In 2011 Sebastian was cast as "Gavroche" in Les Misérables (Queen's Theatre). Croft was later hand picked by producer Cameron Mackintosh to return to Oliver! this time playing the title role in the UK touring company (touring for eighteen months). In 2013 Croft played "Tommy" in the Royal Shakespeare Company production of Matilda (Cambridge Theatre).[4] His final musical performance (as a juvenile) was in the title role of the world premiere production of The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole (Leicester Curve). Prominent musical theatre workshops include: I Can't Sing, The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole, Bumblescratch,[5][6] Danny Hero and The Braille Legacy.[7] Prominent one night concerts and performances include: Rags: The Musical (Lyric Theatre)[8] and A Charity Concert With Emeli Sande and Laura Wright.

Television

In 2016 Croft appeared in the TV series, Houdini and Doyle (ITV, Fox), Penny Dreadful (Sky Atlantic, Showtime). Croft rose to prominence garnering the role of "Young Eddard Stark" in season six of the popular series Game of Thrones (HBO).[9]

Music Video

At Christmas 2014 Croft was featured in the Michael Bublé and Idina Menzel music video of the classic 1940s Frank Loesser song "Baby It's Cold Outside" with the song climbing to No. 1 on Billboard's weekly Adult Contemporary chart for the week ending December 20, 2014, spending a total of three weeks on top.[10]

Film

In 2015 Croft played "Young Robert Pulaski" in the film Music, War and Love due for release in 2016[1] and "Young David Logan" in The Hippopotamus also due for release in 2016.[11]

Stage (non-musical)

In 2014 Croft's vocal overdub was featured in the National Theatre Live's production of Coriolanus (Donmar Warehouse) with Tom Hiddleston.[4] Croft workshopped the play Emil and The Detectives (National Theatre) in the title role of "Emil Tischbein". In 2016 Croft was cast to play the role of "Prince Arthur" in Sir Trevor Nunn's production of Shakespeare's King John (Rose Theatre).[12]
