Dr. Sebastian L.v. Gorka is an American expert on counterinsurgency and counterterrorism and teaches irregular warfare.[1] He is Breitbart's National Security Editor, founding member of the Council for Emerging National Security Affairs and member of the Strategic Advisers Group of the Atlantic Council of the United States. Previously, he was a policy expert of the Hungarian Ministry of Defense, founding director of the Institute for Transitional Democracy and International Security and adjunct professor at the George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany. Dr. Gorka became an American citizen in 2012.[2]
Early life
Gorka was born in the United Kingdom after his parents fled Hungary after the Hungarian Revolution of 1956.[1]
Education
Gorka is graduate of the University of London and the Corvinus University of Budapest, where he received a Ph.D in Political Science.[1] He was a Kokkalis Fellow at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.[1]
Teaching
Beside teaching courses at The Institute of World Politics and College of International Security Affairs, Gorka frequently lectures at West Point, the National Counterterrorism Center, and the School of Advanced Military Studies. Previously, he taught for four years at the George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies.
