Plot
The plot revolves around an Indian family with close family relationships shot in a village near Godavari river.
Seetharamaiah (ANR) is a landlord in Sitarampuram village. His wife is Janakamma (Rohini) and son is Srinivas Murthy (Raja). There are differences between the father and Son regarding the Son's marriage. Unable to deceive Sumathi (son Srinivas Murthy's love), Srinivas Murthy marries her and leaves the village.
After a gap of 20 long years, his daughter Seeta (Meena) arrives in the village to attend a marriage function. Though Sitaramayya did not like his son, he develops a liking for his grand daughter, but doesn't express openly. Where as Janakamma expresses her love openly.
Son-in-law of the family (Bharani) wants to marry her and Veerabhadraiah (Kota) wants his son(Sudhakar) to marry her.
Meanwhile a friend of Srinivas Murthy (Muralimohan) comes to the village, and reveals that their son and daughter-in-law had died in a road accident in America a long time ago. Why this death was kept as a secret and the resulting fine nuances in the family relationships form the rest of the story.
