The flagtail prochilodus (Semaprochilodus theraponura or Semaprochilodus insignis) is a species of South American freshwater fish in the genus Semaprochilodus. It is native to central and western parts of the Amazon River and tributaries[1] and can reach a maximum length of about 14 inches in captivity.[2]
