Seth Riggs (born Samuel Riggs of Reuben III, September 19, 1930) is an American singer, actor[1][2] and vocal coach.[3] He is the originator of the patented and trademarked vocal technique Speech Level Singing and clients of Riggs' have collectively received more than 135 Grammys. Some of those clients include Michael Jackson,[4][5][6][7] Stevie Wonder,[7] Barbra Streisand, Madonna, Ray Charles,[7] Tina Turner, Michael Bolton,[7] Natalie Cole,[7] Josh Groban, Whoopi Goldberg[8][7] and Sylvester Stallone.

Seth Riggs taught his first voice lesson as a 19-year-old in 1949 while doing his military service on board USS Maloy DE-791 when he taught another serviceman. Since then, Riggs has never stopped teaching. He also conducts workshops and masterclasses around the world together with his wife, Margareta Svensson Riggs.[9][10]

Personal life

Seth Riggs grew up Baltimore, Maryland. His wife Kathleen Jane Riggs whom he met in a vocal lesson in 1973 and then married in 1974 had a beautiful marriage lasting over 25 years and had 6 children. She lost her battle with colon cancer in 1999. She too was also an opera singer and between Seth and Kathy their vocal skills and passion has been carried on by two of their six children Rachel Riggs and Kathleen (Katie) Riggs. Rachel and Katie have been carrying on their fathers legacy of the Speech Level Singing Method. Seth is now married to Margareta Svensson whom he married in 2012 and have a beautiful little girl named Samantha Svensson Riggs born in 2012.
