Shafqat Mahmood is a Pakistani Politician, Columnist, and a retired civil servant who is serving as the Member of Parliament of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf from Lahore's Constituency NA-126.[1]

PUBLIC SERVICE

He joined the Civil Service of Pakistan (District Management Group) in 1973 and served for about seventeen (17) years until he resigned in 1990 to join politics. During service he was Assistant Commissioner Pakpattan and Murree from 1975 to 1978, Deputy secretary in Punjab from 1979 to 1980 and then Deputy Commissioner in Gujranwala and DG Khan from 1981 to 1985. Among other positions he was Additional Commissioner Afghan Refugees Punjab in 1985 and Additional Secretary finance in Punjab from 1988–89. After briefly serving as Deputy Commissioner Islamabad in 1989 he was posted as joint secretary PM's Secretariat from where he resigned from service in 1990.
