Shaheen Bagh

Shaheen Bagh is a neighbourhood in the South Delhi District of Delhi, India. It is the southernmost colony of the Okhla (Jamia Nagar) area, situated along the banks of the Yamuna.

Economy

The economy of the area is diverse. Apart from a wholesale market,property sales, other places of interest in and around the area include NSIC, Meera Bai Polytechnic, New Friends Colony, Maharani Bagh, Okhla Vihar, Holy Family Hospital, Apollo Hospital, Escort and Fortis Hospitals, Kalka Mandir, Lotus Temple, Okhla Railway Station, Crowne Plaza Hotel and the Computer Market in Nehru Place.

Shaheen Bagh has showrooms including Woodland, Adidas, Louis Philippe and Reebok. It hosts travel agencies, consultancies and social service NGOs.

This area has good connectivity to nearby commercial and official areas such as NOIDA (New Okhla Industrial Development Authority), Nehru Place, Sarita Vihar, Jasola,Okhla vihar, Okhla Industrial Area, and Okhla Railway Station.

A number of non-vegetarian restaurants are also present in the colony such as Zaika Restaurant, Zooby's, Al Bake, Mughlai Cuisine and Karim's.

Health care

Shaheen Bagh has many nursing homes and maternity centers.

Education

E4U Academy a Professional & Technical Institute of Piping & Structure Design in Oil & Gas Sector .

A senior secondary school named Shaheen Public School is located in F block.

Infrastructure

A metro train network is also proposed by 2016 to Kalindi Kunj. A metro train station is present in Sarita Vihar, 1 or 2 km from Shaheen Bagh.

Political Personality

Mr. Ansar Malik nominated as a consolar from Shaheen Bagh Ward No. 206 by Congress Party. Mr . AMaantullah Khan is MLA from AAP
