Shane Kersten (born 3 March 1993) is an Australian rules footballer who plays for Geelong in the Australian Football League (AFL). He was recruited from the South Fremantle in the West Australian Football League (WAFL) with the 34th selection in the 2011 AFL Draft. Kersten made his debut in

Kersten was considered to make his AFL debut in the 2013 Preliminary Final,[1] but had to wait until Round 14 of the 2014 AFL season to be selected. He kicked 3 goals in his debut game and was a standout despite Geelong losing to the Gold Coast by 40 points.[2] Kersten played the following week against Essendon and the Cats got up by 9 points and what was Kersten's first win. Kersten kicked 2 majors and which would prove priceless as the Cats beat the Bombers by under 2 goals. After making his debut Kersten has maintained his spot in the side and has become an invalubale second forward target to help Tom Hawkins.
