Huang Shanshan (simplified Chinese: 黄珊汕; traditional Chinese: 黃珊汕; pinyin: Huáng Shānshàn; born January 18, 1986 in Fujian) is a female Chinese trampoline gymnast who won Bronze in the individual competition at the 2004 Summer Olympics. In the 2012 Summer Olympics, she finished in second place.

Career

At the 2003 Trampoline World Championships, Huang Shanshan entered the final competition in third place. Unfortunately, she fell during her third jump and wound up finishing 8th overall. Despite this disappointment, she was still the first Chinese trampolinist to make a World Championship final.

During the 2006 Trampoline World Cup, she won championships in two individual competitions held in Switzerland and Germany, achieving a historic breakthrough for Chinese trampolinists. A sport with great importance in the eyes of the General Administration of Sport, her breakthrough at the World Cup will increase her confidence as the Olympics approach. Her goal at the games is to at least medal, but she also wants to be in contention for gold. At the 2008 Olympic Games, though, she failed to get into the finals due to a fall in the qualification round.

In the 2012 Summer Olympics, she placed second in the preliminary and final competition winning a silver medal.
