Shaqsha (Ancash Quechua for jingle bell / a typical dancer of the Ancash Region,[2] hispanicized Shacsha) or Wanchan (hispanicized Huanchan)[3] is a mountain in the Cordillera Blanca in the Andes of Peru,[4] about 5,703 metres (18,711 ft) high. It is situated in the Ancash Region, Huaraz Province, Olleros District. Shaqsha lies southwest of Wantsan, west of Urwashrahu and southeast of the town of Huaraz (Waras).
There are two little lakes west of Shaqsha. The one to the east is named Shaqshaqucha (Quechua qucha lake, Shacshacocha).[5]
