Shaquell Kwame "Shaq" Moore (born November 2, 1996) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a right back for Spanish club Real Oviedo B and the United States national under-20 team.

Club career

Moore was born Powder Springs, Georgia, and was an IMG Academy alumni during his youth. In April 2014 he started training with FC Dallas,[1] being offered a contract shortly after.[2]

Moore made his debut with Dallas Reserves on April 23, 2014, coming on as a second-half substitute for Adam Moffat in a 2–3 home loss against Orlando City SC. It was his maiden senior appearance at the club, however.

Released by Dallas in August, Moore immediately moved to Spain and went on to train with Valencia CF, Levante UD and Huracán Valencia CF.[3] With the latter he was assigned to the Juvenil A, as the club waited for an international transfer certificate.

On May 9, 2015 Moore finally signed a contract with Huracán.[4] He made his debut for the club on August 22, coming on as a second-half substitute for Javi Soria in a 1–1 home draw against CD Atlético Baleares.[5]

Moore signed with Real Oviedo B on January 7, 2016.[6]

International career

After being rejected by Trinidad and Tobago at under-15 level,[7] Moore represented United States at under-17, under-18 and under-20 levels. He captained the under-17s in 2012–13, including at the 2013 CONCACAF U-17 Championship, and appeared with the under-20s at the 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup. [8]

Personal life

Shaquell is son of former Trinidad and Tobago footballer Wendell Moore. His brother CJ also plays in the US national youth soccer system.[9][7]
