Sharon Public Hr. Sec. School opened in April 1985 with eleven students and one teacher. Within two years, enrollment had increased to 200, and now the school has an enrollment of 500 children from nursery school though 12th grade. Now it has become a Higher Secondary School recognized by J&K Government and affiliated to the J&K Board of School Education Jammu up to 12th grade.
All subjects except Hindi and Urdu are taught in English. Being an English-language school, the school places special emphasis on the use of English in student-teacher and student-student interactions.
Sharon Public Hr. Sec. School is located in Ambedkar Colony in Udhampur.

The school has three houses, named after three mountain ranges:
