Shaw McCutcheon
Howard Shaw McCutcheon (born October 11, 1921)[1] is an American editorial cartoonist. Born in Chicago in 1921, McCutcheon graduated from Harvard University with a degree in mathematics (1943). After serving in the U.S. Military during World War II he returned to his study of art at the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts. He spent most of his career (1950–1986) as editorial cartoonist for the Spokane, Washington Spokesman-Review.
Examples of his work are in the permanent collection of the Northwest Museum of Art & Culture in Spokane. His father was the noted Chicago Tribune editorial cartoonist John T. McCutcheon.
