Shawn Dougherty is an American businessperson, entrepreneur, and Chief Operating Officer (COO) and co-founder of mophie.[1]
Early life
Dougherty grew up in Kalamazoo County, Michigan.[2] After graduating from Kalamazoo Central High School, she attended Michigan State University.[3]
Career
Following years of product development and engineering management, Dougherty co-founded mStation Audio — the company that is now mophie — in southern California with Daniel Huang in 2006.[4] After starting the company, Dougherty bought the property next to the house where she grew up in Kalamazoo, which included a 3,000 sq. ft. pole barn.[5] Dougherty moved the company there and operated the business for six months, earning $750,000 in revenue while there.[6]
