Shefali Razdan Duggal (born November 22, 1971) is an Indian-born American Democratic political activist in San Francisco who is a Presidential Appointee to President Barack Obama to the United States Holocaust Memorial Council, which supervises the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, for a term expiring in January 2018. [1] She was an active fundraiser for the Barack Obama election campaign in 2008 where she was a Trustee for the DNC South Asian American Leadership Council. She focused on South Asian and Young Professional outreach, co-hosting a number of fundraising events for both the Senator and his surrogates. She was a member of President Barack Obama's National Finance Committee for his reelection campaign in 2012, a co-chair for Obama Victory Trustees, and the Northern California Finance Committee.[1] She worked on the Massachusetts Democratic Party, New Hampshire Democratic Party, and Senators Ted Kennedy and Dianne Feinstein. She also worked on the Al Gore presidential campaign in 2000, and Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign in 2008.[2]
The National Diversity Council named her to the list of the Most Powerful and Influential Women of 2012 in California.[2] She is active on the Human Rights Watch, California Committee North.[3] She was also named by the Silicon India News as one of the "Five Most Influential Indian Women in U.S."[4] She currently works on diverse U.S. Senate and Congressional campaigns throughout the country. She is on the National Finance Committee for Hillary for America, the Hillary Clinton presidential campaign, 2016.
Early life
Shefali, a Kashmiri Pandit, was born in Hardiwar, Uttar Pradesh, India and moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at age 2 and Cincinnati, Ohio at age 5, where she grew up. She was educated in Cincinnati, Oxford, OH and New York, NY.[2][3] She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communication (minor in Political Science) and a Masters of Arts degree in Political Communication from New York University.[4] She has been married to Rajat Duggal since 1998 and they have a son and a daughter.[2]

Shefali is the Senior Advisor for South Asian American Digital Archive (SAADA). She is an advisor to viiv.tv. She was the past president of Indus Women Leaders and a past board member of Indian American Leadership Initiative.[4]
