Shelby Starner was a pop singer who was signed to Warner Bros. Records in early December 1997. Her debut album From in the Shadows was released in 1999, it scored minor success with the single "Don't Let Them". In 2000 she began work on her second album, produced by members of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. However, the album was never released.[1]
Death
Starner entered a treatment hospital for bulimia. Shelby continued treatment over the next two years. Tragically Starner's body gave in to the detriments of her long bout with bulimia and due to electrolyte imbalances that caused brain swelling, stroke, and seizure, she died on June 22, 2003. She was 19 years old.[2]
