Shewa, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Shewa is a town and Union Council of Swabi District in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.[1] It holds an altitude of 340 metres (1118 feet).[2]

The present Shewa village situated in the Swabi district of the Pukhtoonkhwa province of Pakistan is actually the Khanate of Shewa. Khanate of Shewa has been headed by the Khans of Shewa belonging to the Khadarzai branch of the Yousafzai tribe of Pukhtoons, known for their bravery and honour. Shewa has a glorious history and is a part of the Indus civilisation. The people of Shewa are also known for their beauty, chivalry, and hospitality.Shewa is situated at the site of the old Hindu temple of the Hindu god Shiva, hence the name Shewa.
