Shon Harris (March 27, 1968 – October 8, 2014) was a prolific author of books and articles on topics related to information security, including study guides for (ISC)2's CISSP security certification examination.[1] At the time of her death, over 1,000,000 copies of her books had been sold.[2] An updated edition of her CISSP practice exam book was published posthumously in 2015.

Harris also served as an engineer in the United States Air Force Information Warfare Unit,[3] was as an information-security consultant, and founder of information-security training company, Logical Security.[4] As of May 2015, the Logical Security website was offline, although various advertisements for its products remained online as of November 2015.

Harris was recognized as one of the top 25 women in the information-security field by Information Security magazine.[5][6]

Harris posthumously won the FISSEA 2014 Educator of the Year Award and the Information Systems Security Association's Hall of Fame award in 2015.[7]
