Shyam Lal College was founded by late padamshree Shyamlal Gupta in 1964 under the charity of Chairman Shyam lal Charitable Trust. The foundation stone of college was laid by Late Dr. Zakir Hussain, the then Honerable Vice president of India and Chancellor of University of Delhi on 24 May 1964. The evening College began functioning from 8th September 1969. It is one of full-fledged constituent colleges of University of Delhi imparting knowledge in Commerce and Humanities to more than 1800 students.
The college has been Active in Co-curricular Activities. It is housed in spacious Building of its own at G.T. Road, Shahadra. The best part is its just little walking from Welcome metro station.
