Sidney Independent School District

Sidney Independent School District is a public school district based in the community of Sidney, Texas (USA).

The district has one school that serves students in grades pre-kindergarten through twelve. As of August 25, 2014, the school now has its highest enrollment in 10 years.

Academic achievement

In 2009, the school district was rated "academically acceptable" by the Texas Education Agency.[1]

Athletics

Sidney High School athletics include six-man football, basketball, golf, tennis, track, Cross Country, and powerlifting. Junior High athletics include six-man football, Cross Country, track, and basketball. Rivalry games to see are vs Blanket and Gustine.

The farthest the Sidney varsity football team has ever reached was in 2009 losing to Walnut Springs 64-56 in the Quarterfinals.

In 2015, for the first time in school history, the Junior High football team were undefeated district champions with a record of 8-0.

In 2015, the Junior High girls were district track champions.

In 2015, Garett Drummond qualified for State in golf.

In 2016, Junior High girls were Track District Champions for the second year in a row.

In 2016, Garett Drummond qualified for State in golf for the second year in a row.
