Sikandar Sultan is a Pakistani entrepreneur and philanthropist who is the founder and now Chairman of Shan Foods Ltd.. He is a renowned and influential businessman in the Pakistani food industry. In 1981, Sultan was the first one to recognize the potential of launching an independent company that produced hygienic and first-rate recipe mixes and plain spices. During this period, he decided to take the national heritage of spice mixes and develop an entire food enterprise.
After relentless hard work he paved Shan Foods way to success. The company floundered and now stands as the leading spice company in Pakistan.[1] Shan Foods Company distributes a range of food items in 60 countries across 5 continents. The company manufactures in three destinations including Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and UAE and owns offices in United Kingdom.
He has now acquired Raani Foods, a UK-based brand and continues to enter new markets under the Shan Foods umbrella.
Shan Foods
Sultan found a gap in the food industry of Pakistan, where ready-made spice mixes were unheard of and loose unhygienic spices were the norm. He decided to take Pakistan’s cultural heritage of spice mixes and transformed it into an exemplary company. From thereon, with his classic entrepreneurship he led Shan Foods to where it stands now.,[2] a renowned spice mix company selling products across 5 continents and manufacturing in three countries. The company produces around two hundred different products including recipe mixes, plain spices, accompaniments, salts, traditional and Delves desserts.[3] Sultan continues to develop the wide range of Shan Foods products by entering new markets and launching new products every year. As of 2008, over a 100 products were being exported to 52 countries and the annual revenues exceeded Rs 1.5 billion, with the company enjoying a 50 per cent of market share.
Raani Foods
Sultan acquired Raani Foods; a Manchester based Food Company that produces Indian Food delights in 2011. This transaction was based on a strategy to transform Shan Foods into a transnational global fast-moving consumer goods. Raani Foods wide range of products has further added to the variety produced by Shan Foods. Raani Foods categories include both frozen ethnic foods and traditional desserts.

Marketing Association of Pakistan
The Marketing Association of Pakistan (MAP) recognized Sikandar Sultan for his monumental corporate success in 2011 and awarded him as an acclaimed marketing ‘Guru’ of the food industry.
Made in Pakistan
Shan Foods presented Pakistan in the "Made in Pakistan" exhibition held in India in 2008.[4] The aim of participating was to further strengthen cultural links between Pakistan and India
Best Export Performance Award
In 2009 he received the Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry's Best Export Performance Award on 26 September from the Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani.[5]
