Simmons Pet Food Inc was founded in 1959. It has operations in Siloam Springs, Arkansas; Emporia, Kansas; Pennsauken, New Jersey; and Streetsville, Canada. It manufacturers wet pet food for different brands.
In August 2010 it bought out Menu Foods for $239 million.[3][2]
Manufacturing
Production facilities inherited from Menu Foods are located in Emporia, Kansas; Pennsauken, New Jersey; and Streetsville, Ontario. The plants produce wet pet food in aluminum and steel cans at a rate of 1,000 cans per minute, or 1,110 85-gram pouches per minute. Jointly, the plants are able to produce over one billion containers a year.[4]
In April 2014, plans were announced to expand product at the Emporia site.[5] The company closed a poultry processing plant in October, the 200 staff members where offered transfers.[6]
