Simon O'Brien (born 16 May 1960) is an Australian politician and Minister in the Western Australian Government.

O'Brien was born in Subiaco, Western Australia and elected to the Western Australian Legislative Council in 1996 for the term commencing 22 May 1997 on a Liberal Party ticket representing the Electoral region of South Metropolitan; he was re-elected in 2001, 2005 and 2008. He is currently the Legislative Council's Deputy Leader of the Liberal Party.[1]

O'Brien currently serves as Minister for Finance, Minister for Commerce, and Minister for Small Business in the 35th Cabinet of Western Australia. He previously served as Minister for Transport and Minister for Disability Services from 23 September 2008 to 14 December 2010.
