Government of Sindh (Sindhi: سنڌ سرڪار Urdu: حکومتِ سندھ ) is a unicameral system of government based in the metropolis of Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan, which stands as its provincial capital. Sindh parliament consists of 168 members who are elected through direct vote and represent their own constituencies. 30 seats are reserved for women and 8 for non-Muslim minority. Government of Sindh consists of several departments each headed by a minister chosen from the elected representative of the assembly on democratic level and a secretary on the bureaucratic level.
Executive
The official head of the province of Sindh is the Governor, appointed by the president of Pakistan under article 101 of the national constitution and holds so during the pleasure of the president. Nevertheless, as to the certain provisions of the constitution, the Governor, in performance of the vested functions, does act in accordance with the advice of the cabinet or the Chief Minister.
The Chief Minister is appointed by the Governor from amongst the chosen representatives of the Sindh assembly, who, in his opinion, must possess the confidence of the 1/3 majority out of aggregate number of members.
The Government of Sindh holds a cabinet of minister, each entrusted with a specific portfolio, with the chief minister as its head. The cabinet aids and advises the Governor in the exercise of his functions.
The Chief minister, as the head to the cabinet, notifies to Governor of all the decisions of the cabinet relative to the affairs of the administration as well as the proposals for legislation.
