Singhana is a city in Dhar district in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh.

Singhana is located at an average elevation of 180 metres (590 feet).

Demographics

As of 2001 India census,[1] Singhana had a population of 13,460. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Singhana has an average literacy rate of 59%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 66%, and female literacy is 52%. In Singhana, 15% of the population is under 6 years of age.

History

The name Singhana came from the Hindi pronunciation of groung nut as sing and the Hindi pronunciation of groung nut mill as ghana. The joining of sing and Ghana is become Singhana. The famous Ma Harsiddhi Mandir, is also located at mnr road Singhana. It is a religious and peaceful city.

The biggest temples in Singhana are "shri ram mandir" at "ayodhya chopati","shri aai mata" mandir at juna pura,"shri siddheshwar mandir" at jhanda chok, "maa harsiddhi mandir" at mnr road, "shri tadkiya sarkar hanumanji" at chhatri pura, and "maa gayatri mandir" at Gayatri colony Kukshi Road.
