Sinne Eeg (born in Lemvig, Denmark in 1977) is a Danish jazz vocalist and composer.
Sinne Eeg was admitted at the Academy of Music in Esbjerg[1] in 1997, from where she graduated in 2003.[2] She has received a number of highly positive reviews in the national[3] and international press,[4] [5] and is considered a major talent; amongst the best female jazz vocalists on the Scandinavian scene.[6][7] She has composed many songs of her own and although she usually sings in English, she has also performed and recorded songs in Danish. As part of her musical studies, Sinne studied with American singer Janet Lawson in New York.[8] The clarity of her very natural tone, gives her that distinction; couple this to a near perfect intonation and the fact that she and the genre that is jazz are well met.
Sinne Eeg has won the Danish Music Awards prize in the category Best Danish Vocal Jazz Album of the Year three times; in 2007, 2010 and 2014, for her albums "Waiting for dawn", "Don't Be So Blue" and "Face the Music".[9] She also received the acclaimed Ben Webster Prize on 28 March 2014, as the first vocalist ever. The Webster Foundation describes her as "a true jazz singer, who both shows sensitivity, improvisational skills, maturity, broad range and timing in her singing.".[10] Sinne has toured Europe, Japan, China and the USA.[11] The 26th of January in 2012, she sang in Brussels, accompanied by the Danish Radio Big Band, at the celebration for the beginning of the Danish Presidency of the Council of the European Union. In Denmark, she regularly performs at the jazz venue of La Fontaine in Copenhagen.[8][12]
