Sir John Stapylton, 3rd Baronet

Sir John Stapylton, 3rd Baronet (c. 1683 24 October 1733), of Myton in Yorkshire, was an English Member of Parliament.

He was the eldest son of Sir Brian Stapylton, Member of Parliament for Aldborough and Boroughbridge, and succeeded to the baronetcy following his father's death on 23 November 1727.

He entered Parliament in 1705 as member for Boroughbridge, which his father had represented for twelve of the previous fifteen years. He served only three years as MP before being once more supplanted by his father in 1708.

He married Mary Sandys, daughter of Francis Sandys of Scorby, and had a number of children, including:

also Francis, Henry, Robert and Christopher, Mary, Elizabeth, Diana and Penelope.

He died in October 1733, after a fall from his horse. His eldest son succeeded to the baronetcy.
