Sixto Batista Santana

Sixto Batista Santana (28 March 1932 – 29 June 2014) was a Cuban military officer and politician.[1]

During his early youth, he joined Cuba's largest rebel army and encountered Fidel Castro when the Cuban Revolution occurred. As he became older, Castro rewarded Santana with several promotions such as Chief of the Political Staff and had an involvement in Castro's defense sector.[2] In 1965, Santana joined the Communist Party of Cuba and was automatically put on the main committee due to his affiliation and commitment towards Castro. Up until his death, Santana joined the Cuban Council and received numerous achievements and awards for his work.[3]
