Skirlie

'Mealie Pudding is a Scottish dish, made from oatmeal fried with fat, onions, and seasonings. Most commonly used as the basis of white puddings, it is also served as a side-dish or used as a stuffing for chicken or other fowl. Also a common side dish to accompany mince & tatties (especially in the NE of Scotland). Lard, beef dripping or butter are used. It has recently been discovered that Mealie Pudding contains high amounts of amino acids and essential fats, making this a "Superfood" [1]
