Sleeping Giant is a 2015 Canadian drama film directed by Andrew Cividino. It was screened in the International Critics' Week section at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival.[1]

The film stars Jackson Martin, Reece Moffett and Nick Serino as Adam, Nate and Riley, three young boys spending the summer together in Thunder Bay, Ontario.[2] It is an expansion of a short film, of the same title, that Cividino made in 2013.[2] The original short film version was a Canadian Screen Award nominee for Best Live Action Short Drama at the 3rd Canadian Screen Awards.

The feature version won the award for Best Canadian First Feature Film at the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival[3] and also won the Vancouver International Film Festival award for Best Canadian Film.[4] In December, the film was announced as part of TIFF's annual Canada's Top Ten screening series of the ten best Canadian films of the year.[5]

At the 4th Canadian Screen Awards in 2016, the film received four nominations including Best Picture, Best Director (Cividino), Best Supporting Actor (Serino) and Best Editing (James Vandewater). Serino won the award for Best Supporting Actor.

The film score is by Toronto composer Chris Thornborrow and indie rock band Bruce Peninsula.[6]
