Smilax pseudochina, the bamboo vine,[4] is a North American species of plants native to the Atlantic Coast of the United States. It ranges from Long Island in New York State south to Georgia.[3][5]


Smilax pseudochina is an herb up to 2 meters (7 feet) tall, sometimes unbranched but sometimes with a few branches. Berries are round, blue or black with a waxy coat, borne in umbels.[6]
