Sofia Areal
Sofia Areal, born in Lisbon, Portugal in 1960, is a painter. She began her training in 1979 at the Hertfordshire College of Art and Design in St. Albans.
Back in Portugal she studied etching and painting at Ar.Co (Art and Visual Communication Center).
Group exhibitions began in 1982 and solo exhibitions in 1990. Besides her painting and drawing she has also worked in illustration, tapestry, graphic design and scenography.
Sofia Areal has exhibited in various countries individually and collectively. She had a 10 year retrospective in 2011.
