Dr. Somsak Jeamteerasakul (Thai: สมศัà¸à¸”ิ์ เจียมธีรสà¸à¸¸à¸¥; rtgs: Somsak Chiamthirasakun) former history lecturer at Faculty of Liberal Arts, Thammasat University. His academic field is contemporary politics and he's especially interested in recent Thai history, starting from 1930 onward.

Somsak is interested in politics since he was a student representative during his secondary education. He writes about the role of the Monarchy of Thailand. Ultra-royalist and Royalist groups accused him of trying to "Overthrow the monarchy".[1] Now Somsak Jeamteerasakul living in self-imposed exile in France.
