Sonargaon University (SU) is a university in Dhaka, Bangladesh. It has four faculties: Science and Engineering; Business and Economics; Humanities and Social Science; and Law and Justice.[1]

Criticism

The application for government approval of Sonargaon University was made by politicians Rashed Khan Menon and Nazrul Islam Babu, leading to allegations of corruption.[2] Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid has stated that the approval was not politically motivated but was instead based upon consideration of areas that did not have universities.[2]
