Sophia Institute Press is a non-profit publishing company based in New England in the United States. It publishes and distributes books that nurture the spiritual, moral, and cultural life of souls and spreads the Gospel of Christ in conformity with the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church. In addition to publishing books, Sophia Institute operates several Catholic apostolates including Sophia Institute for Teachers, Crisis Magazine, and CatholicExchange.com.[1]

In 2015, Sophia Institute Press formed a joint venture with EWTN Global Catholic Network to establish EWTN Publishing, a new entity that is publishing books by EWTN's founder, Mother Angelica, as well as by hosts of EWTN programming. [2]

Sophia Institute was founded in 1987 and is located in Bedford, New Hampshire. Since 2012, the president of the Press has been Charlie McKinney.[1]

Sophia Institute for Teachers

In 2014, Sophia Institute for Teachers was established to provide Catholic educators with ready-to-use classroom materials as well as teacher formation workshops. [3] The Institute has partnered with 21 Catholic dioceses nationwide, and has trained over 6,000 teachers.

Sophia Institute for Teachers provides educators with weekly lesson plans on the Sunday Gospel, a Catholic Curriculum Exchange, online courses, webinars, and other resources.

Sophia SketchPad is a popular whiteboard animation series. Videos have been released explaining the Eucharist, Confession, Marriage, and Confirmation.[4]
