Sopiko Guramishvili (Georgian: სოფიკო გურამიშვილი; born 1 January 1991 in Tbilisi) is a Georgian chess player. She was awarded the Woman Grandmaster title in 2009 and the International Master title in 2012.

Chess career

She finished second in the 2003 World Under-12 Girls Championship[1] and won the 2006 World Under-16 Girls Championship.[2]

In 2004 Guramishvili played a match with Irene Kharisma Sukandar ("Enerpac Chess Match") in Jakarta, consisting in two rapid games and four standard games. She won by 4-2.[3]

She won the bronze medal in the women's World University Chess Championship of 2010 held in Zurich.[4] In January 2012, Guramishvili won the women's round-robin tournament of the Reggio Emilia chess tournament.[5]

In October 2015 Guramishvili won a six-game match with European U16 girls champion Anna-Maja Kazarian by 5,5-0,5 at the Hoogeveen Chess Festival.[6]

Personal life

On 18 July 2015 Sopiko Guramishvili married the Russian-born Dutch grandmaster Anish Giri.[7]
