Sorpe river is located in the German district of Hochsauerlandkreis, North Rhine-Westphalia, western Germany.
It is a western tributary of the Röhr river, which is a tributary of the Ruhr river. The Ruhr becomes a tributary of the Rhine.
The Sorpe Dam is located on the Sorpe forming Sorpe Reservoir. It is located near the small town of Sundern.
