Soumya Mishra (Odia: ସୌମ୍ୟା ମିଶ୍ର) is the first female IPS officer from the state of Odisha. She is the cadet of 1994 batch[1] IPS officer and has held several senior positions, and took charge as special Secretary of Home [2] in the State Government of Telangana. During her police career she was designated in various parts of Andhra Pradesh[3] like Vijaywada, Karimnagar, Visakhapatnam, Vijaynagara and Warangal.
Early life
Mishra was born in Cuttack and started her education in Stewart School. Thereafter she received her PhD. from Utkal University and received a research scholarship. After passing Civil service examination she left research.[4]
Family
Mishra is married to a retired IAS officer Debabrata Kantha and has one sons an done daughter.
