South Africa Partners
South Africa Partners, or SA Partners, is a Boston-based non-profit organization developing long-term partnerships between the United States and South Africa.[1] Executive Director of SA Partners, Mary Tiseo, with Donna Katzin, Executive Director of Shared Interests, jointly received the first "Siyabonga Friend of South Africa Award" for their individual and organizations contributions. The Siyabonga Awards launched at a gala dinner on 7 October 2014, at the Marriott Marquis hotel on Times Square in New York.[2][3]
History
SA Partners was Founded in 1997, based in Boston, centered on developing long-term partnerships between United States and South African institutions. The core function is to build on the efforts of individuals who supported the international movement for democracy in South Africa, especially in the areas of health, education, and economic development.[1][4]
SA Partners primarily operates as a broker and facilitator between U.S. and South African individuals and institutions in areas such as academic, professional, business, labor, non-profit, and governmental.[4]
Funding
SA Partners operate on donations and volunteers at the Boston, MA and East London, RSA office.[5]

Projects
Projects include:
- Training Preschool teachers to help improve early childhood development program's in informal schools, including nutritional improvement, books and educational materials for sustainability.
- Primary schools Program's that expand capacity and professional development of teachers.
- Development of libraries with donations of thousands of children’s books.
- Training of health leaders and managers in an effort to improve health services, promotion of international research collaborations, and granting hospitals access to newer technologies.
- Train HIV positive people how to stay healthy.
- Providing technical consultants for the pre-antiretroviral Care and Treatment Program.[5]
- Masifunde Sonke: Let Us Read Together Book Program[8]
- World Cup Boston 2010: In collaboration with the Barr Foundation, a range of city agencies, NPO's and the local Community. A range of activities and soccer tournaments were arranged in Boston, Seemingly inspired by the World Cup South Africa 2010.[9][10]
