South African Mint

The South African Mint Company (Pty) Limited (SA MINT) is the official mint of the Republic of South Africa with its headquarters in Centurion, Gauteng Province near Pretoria. SA MINT manufactures coins on behalf of the South African Reserve Bank. The company is headed by A. M. Mvinjelwa, Managing Director.[1]

Most of the production is of Circulation coins and Commemorative coins. Among them are:

The world-famous Krugerrand gold coin has been minted here since 1967. From 1996, the Mint has operated a retail outlet and museum at Centurion, Gauteng.[3]
