The 2005 South Asian Football Federation Cup was hosted in Islamabad, jinnah sports stadium Pakistan from December 7 to December 17.

Bangladesh and India played out the final in a repeat of the 1999 final. Just as in the 1999 final, India beat Bangladesh 2-0 with goals from Mehraj Din Wadoo and Baichung Bhutia. Bhutia was also had scored the second goal in the 1999 final. It was India's fourth title win. Ali Ashfaq, Ibrahim Fazeel and Ahmed Thariq all from the Maldives ended joint top scorers.
