South Bay

The South Bay (Chinese: 南灣; pinyin: Nánwān), also called Nanwan or Blue Bay is a beach in Hengchun Township, Pingtung County, Taiwan.[1] The beach is part of Kenting National Park.[2]

Features

The beach used to be a whaling area during the Japanese rule. It is now a fishing village with soft white sands stretching for about 600 meters long. The beach and surrounding water is a perfect place for swimming, surfing, snorkeling, scuba diving and many others.

Facilities

The area around the beach provides facilities such as changing rooms, toilets, rental and sale of swimming equipment, restaurants and parking.

Transportation

The beach is accessible by bus from Xinzuoying Station or Kaohsiung Station of Taiwan Railways Administration.
