South Caucasus Railway (Russian: Южно-Кавказская железная дорога, Armenian: Հարավկովկասյան Երկաթուղի) is a rail operator in Armenia, owned by Russian Railways.

Main information

100% of the railway belongs to Russian Railways. February 13, 2008 in Yerevan between Russian Railways and the Republic of Armenia was signed the Concession contract on the transfer of state Armenian Railways in the management of South Caucasus Railway. According to the agreement, the concession period is 30 years, with possible extension for another 10 years after the first twenty years of work by mutual agreement of the parties. In accordance with the terms of the tender, the railway employees of Armenia (4,300 people), except persons who have reached retirement age, transferred to the staff of CJSC "SCR" on salary increases to 20%.[1]

Rebranding

In connection with the clarification of the company's development strategy of South Caucasus railway, as well as detailing facing the company goals and objectives, there is a need to rebranding the company. This decision was made, including a special position in the economic space of the Republic of Armenia. South Caucasus railway is among the five largest companies of the Republic, and the effectiveness of the company's development has a direct impact on the economic growth of the state.
