South Sudan national football team results
The South Sudan national football team represents South Sudan in association football and is controlled by the South Sudan Football Association (SSFA), the governing body of the sport in the country. Organised football has been played in the country since 2011, the same year the country gained independence from Sudan. South Sudan joined the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) on 26 February and 25 May 2012 respectively. Consequently, all international friendly matches played since then were officially recognised by both organisations. The team played its first official international friendly against Uganda on 10 July 2012.[1][2] The team won their first competitive match in September 2015 during the qualification for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations when they beat Equatorial Guinea 1–0.
