South West Phoenix Football Club is an Australian semi-professional association football club based in Bunbury, Western Australia. The club currently compete in the WA State League Division 1.
History
The club was founded in 2001 after the departure of Ashfield-Bunbury from the state league. The club entered the WA State League Division 1 and finished 6th in their first season. In 2007 they finished 3rd on the ladder, and had subsequent 2nd, 3rd and 2nd place finishes in 2008, 2009 and 2010 respectively.[1] The club's name was changed to the Bunbury Forum Force in 2011, due to sponsorship arrangements,[2] and duly won winning their first Division 1 title that season, which also won them promotion to the WA Premier League for the 2012 season. They finished 9th and 7th in the WA Premier League, however were overlooked for inclusion in the newly announced National Premier Leagues WA for the 2014 season, even though they did not finish in a relegation position on the ladder.[1]
For the 2015 season the club reverted to the name South West Phoenix FC after sponsorship arrangements expired.[3][4]
The Phoenix finished a disappointing 7th in Division 1 in 2015.[5]
