The Southern Oregon RiverDawgs (formerly the Southern Oregon RiverDogs)[1] were a collegiate summer baseball team based in Medford, Oregon, USA.[2] They were founded in 2001 by Medford residents Jim McAbee and John White [3] and were members of the West Coast League's Tri-State Division [4] and the Sierra Baseball League.[5][6] They eventually became members of the Far West League, which hadd 11 teams and two divisions at the time it was created.

The goal of the Riverdawgs was to provide a quality summer baseball program to enable collegiate players to develop their game, and to give them the chance to improve their opportunities to play ball at a higher level. This meant helping players from junior colleges be able to move up to play at NAIA or NCAA schools. The Riverdawgs were successful at that helping some two dozen players move up to higher levels of collegiate baseball and even on to professional baseball. The Riverdawgs were also solidly rooted in the community and held or helped with a number of baseball camps to get kids playing ball. They also assisted Habitat for Humanity with building homes for the less fortunate as a way to give back.

The Riverdawgs originally played at the historic Miles Field in the southern part of Medford before it was demolished in 2004 to build a WalMart Super Center. Miles Field was home to the minor league Southern Oregon Timberjacks team which was a short season single A affiliate of the Oakland A's from 1979 - 1998. The A's left Medford after the 1998 season which paved the way for the creation of the Riverdawgs. The Riverdawgs moved to Harry & David Field in South Medford, which they shared with the American Legion baseball league Medford Mustangs, South Medford High School and Cascade Christian High School. Harry and David Field was also used by the Rogue Valley Men's Adult Baseball League.

The Riverdawgs ceased play after the 2012 season to make way for the Medford Rogues of the West Coast League.
