The Southern Rhodesia Medal for War Service 1939–1945 was a campaign medal of the Commonwealth. It was awarded to the British and Commonwealth forces and was issued to members of the military who served in Southern Rhodesia only during the time of their enlistment, and replaces the War Medal 1939–1945
Description
- It is a circular, cupro-nickel made medal, 36 mm diameter.
- The obverse has the legend "GEORGIVS VI D:G:BR:OMN:REX ET INDIAE IMP." (George VI by the grace of God King of Great Britain and Emperor of India) and the crowned effigy of King George VI.
- On the reverse are the words "FOR SERVICE IN SOUTHERN RHODESIA"
