Spokane Valley High School (also known as SVHS) is a school of choice in Spokane, Washington. SVHS is part of the West Valley School District. It has won theWashington Achievement Award[2] and Washington Designated Innovative Schools Award.[3] The Full Day Program is Project-Based curriculum. Students consistently score in the 90% or above range on state assessments. Class sizes are small - there are eight teachers and an average of 110 students. The school also offers a Transition (contract) program which has Project-Based and individual learning style curriculum that help students with difficult circumstances to continue their education.
History
Spokane Valley High School has been featured on PBS. It was featured once in 2010 [4] and in 2013 on the Frontline episode "Education Under Arrest" hosted by Tavis Smiley.[5]
