Sportstar is a weekly sports magazine published in India by the publishers of The Hindu. Its headquarters is in Chennai.
History and profile
Sportstar was established in 1978.[1] The magazine also has coverage of international sports, including the FIFA World Cup, UEFA Euro and the Olympics. It covers sports in India, including coverage of cricket, the unofficial national sport of India. Additional coverage of sports includes football, tennis and Formula One Grand Prix.
From the 28 January 2006 issue, the magazine changed its name from The Sportstar to Sportstar and moved from the magazine format to a tabloid one. In 2012 the magazine was redesigned.[2]
The new online avatar of Sportstar was launched in October 26, 2015 amidst much fanfare at the Madras Cricket Club.[3] The portal, a one-stop destination for multiple sport, offers the Indian audience a perfect platform to follow their favourite sports and sporting personalities.
